The Cypress Ave. Area Neighborhood Group got together tonight (Tues., Aug. 4th) to celebrate National Night Out…America’s Night Out Against Crime, by sharing in a dessert social. Andrea and Greg were nice enough to host us in the backyard on Hemenway Street. Children (and several adults) even got to cool off in the pool.
Neighbors who know each other and look out for each other are the biggest deterrants to crime in neighborhoods. It is particularly important in theses times of budget cuts that neighbors help the police by being the eyes and ears on the streets.
Methuen Police Officers and City Councilor, Jeanne Pappalardo, attended along with 25-30 neighborhood residents.
